Dr. Kelum Senanayake
Executive Director / Chief Executive Officer / Principal Officer
Dr. Senanayake has over 40 years of experience in the insurance industry and also has the privilege of being the first and only CEO in the Sri Lankan Insurance industry to hold the coveted Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) status, achieved in Sri Lanka in an impressive 133 days. In addition to being the Executive Director / Chief Executive Officer / Principal Officer of Arpico Insurance PLC, he also serves on the Boards of Richard Peiris Distributors and Richard Peiris Finance Company as a Director.
He began his career in 1982 at Mercantile Credit Ltd, the principal agent for National Insurance Corporation and moved to Union Assurance PLC where he rose to the rank of Assistant General Manager during a career spanning over 27 years with the company. Thereafter, subsequently he joined AIA Insurance Lanka as General Manager – Operations, where he rose to the rank of Director – Operations, during a stint spanning over a decade.
Throughout his career, he has forged strong relationships with global reinsurers such as Munich Re, Hannover Re and Reinsurance Group of America (RGA) and possesses a high level of both strategic and operational expertise, being actively involved for decades in developing and managing processes that govern new business underwriting, policy holder servicing, claims, group life underwriting, reinsurance, contact centers, customer experience and various other key areas.
A product of Ananda College, Colombo, Dr. Senanayake holds a Diploma in Business Management from Worldview Institute and an MBA from the University of Western Sydney, Australia and was conferred with a Doctor of Business Administration by the London University of Peace, in recognition of his achievements and contributions to the insurance industry. Having received Insurance training in the UK, Germany, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, India and South Africa, he is also a respected trainer in the arena who has trained over 20,000 insurance professionals during his career.
Mrs. Sriyonie Mendis
Deputy General Manager - Life Operations / Specified Officer
Mrs. Sriyonie Mendis is a ACII, Chartered Insurer (UK) and counts over 20 years in the field of insurance and has over 12 years post qualification experience at leading insurance companies holding the positions of AGM - Life Operations and Specified Officer within the last 03 years.
She holds a BSc. Degree in Physical Science from the University of Colombo and started her insurance career as a Management Trainee at National Insurance Corporation. She also holds a MBA and is a Member of the Alumina Association of MBA University of Colombo and a Member of ACIP (Association of Chartered Insurance Professional) Sri Lanka.
Mr. Nelushan Gunewardena
Head of Marketing
Nelushan is a resourceful and pragmatic marketing and management professional who counts over 19 years of extensive experience and expertise in strategic marketing planning, brand management, marketing & corporate communications, product development, public relations, revenue generation, operations and administration. Having received numerous awards and accolades for business as well as academic excellence,
he is a Member of the Charted Institute of Marketing (UK) and possesses a Master of Business Administration degree from London Metropolitan University (UK), a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing (SLIM), numerous qualifications in the fields of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering and has achieved success and recognition in highly dynamic industries such as retail, automotive, real estate, apparels, advertising and insurance at leading local and multinational organisations.
Mrs. Pavithra Peiris
Senior Manager- Conservation & Customer Care
Pavithra counts 8 years of experience in the field of insurance. Before joining Arpico Insurance she has worked
in a multinational life insurance company and was heading conservation and customer care departments. She holds a
degree in human resources management from Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) and diploma in
information & communication technology from IDM computer studies.
Mrs. L A C Priyanthi
Manager – Actuarial
Mrs. Priyanthi counts over 20 years of experience in the Insurance Industry. She holds a BSc. Degree with First Class Honors in Mathematics and Statistics from University of Colombo and holds a M.Sc. in Actuarial Science also from the University of Colombo.
